Landscaping-Grounds maintenance

It is our goal to provide a clean, safe, environmentally friendly and attractive environment for our students, faculty and staff. We will do this providing fast, efficient, friendly service that exceeds our customer expectations.

Under the supervision of Lawrence Cooper, Landscaping-Grounds Maintenance is responsible for nearly everything outside buildings, with the exception of utilities. Among the many tasks performed by Landscaping-Grounds Maintenance:

• Lawn and plant bed maintenance
• Litter and outdoor debris pickup
• Outdoor litter container collection
• Operation and maintenance of irrigation systems
• Tree planting and maintenance
• Sidewalk and street cleaning
• Control of fire ants
• Fertilizing
• Many other various duties

The duties performed by the crews are diverse although more than 90 percent of grounds maintenance work orders are initiated by the grounds personnel themselves.
